Your Furbaby Deserves the Best!

Born and raised in NYC, I was drawn to LA’s sprawling landscape and Mediterranean climate. With over a decade of experience, I’m a highly-intuitive dog walker, petsitter, and caregiver. The opportunity to put my phone aside to stay present with your furbaby and aware of our surroundings is a welcome one. My forte is helping furbaby abuse survivors heal through trust establishment and gentle guidance. If you’ve adopted from a shelter, I tip my my sun visor off to you! I’ve found that letting furbabies know that I’ve got their back— literally— when they encounter stressors is one of the simplest and most effective gestures there are to soothe most frightened and/or defensive furbabies.

Discipline is important too, of course. In contrast to that (in)famous machismo trainer, I believe that intimidation and control through fear can actually backfire with behavioral adjustments. As with children, who I’ve worked with as well (Manhattan public and private schools), there are plenty of more effective ways to steer them away from unacceptable behavior. We human adults have the height advantage, and are generally more intelligent than furbabies, who rely on us for food and shelter. That’s tremendous leverage built into the dynamic. Patience, consistency, and customized rewards for even the smallest steps in the right direction is the formula that has worked for me time and again. 

My mantra is “Fear does not live here.”

When I petsit onsite, I’m very respectful of your space, striving to leave it as I found it, if not better. I live cleanly in all aspects of the word. Enjoying time with animals and/or in Nature is an awesome high that more people should get addicted to. A published author, I’m also bookish.

Treat Tips: 

The crunching sound of the treat bag elicits a Pavlovian response. Best to remove treats from the bag and put the bag away BEFORE handing treats over to your furbaby.

For maximum effect, use treats judiciously! I know it’s tempting to give our furbabies a treat just for being adorable, but we squander the power of treats by doing so. Furbabies live to please us. Every time we dole out treats they are making an association with their behavior immediately prior, as well as location.
